Had a mechanic come out thought we might have broken piston on the number one piston. Overhaul would be about 4.000 dollars does that sound reasonable. Makes a noise when you pull the throttle. It is a diesel tractor. What would happen if you keep running the tractor, will it eventefully blow up.

If it needs overhauled 4000 is not bad. I just did one for a guy and had that much in parts and machine work. But i did cam oil pump crank turned rods done head done injection pump and injectors. I f that is a narrow block you want to fix it now. cause if you have a rod bust the block you will be screwed. those narrow blocks are very hard to find an big money IF you find one.
