I could see PP operating costs go up (growers must pay for yearly "upgrades" as an example), but I think there is a bigger problem looming in the long term. If Monsanto is provided a clear advantage with all of this data, where does it leave the other players a competative advantage?

Also, I'd say 25 to 30 percent of PP dealers are also Pioneer dealers. We'll see how it shakes out...



I just bought the system this spring and a big reason I did was that they advertised free updates. "the owners don't think farmers should pay for all the changes"

We'll see how long before that is changed. Maybe Ag Leaders planter monitor will be out soon.
