| Yes, they are after the data, especially after the yield monitor comes out. Monsanto needed a way to catch up with Pioneer's FIT mapping system and just went a step forther. I imagine there will be all types of rebates/free equipment ties between Monsanto and PP. Monsanto will want all of their seed customers using PP products that send the data right back to St. Louis.
The data could have lots of uses. They could tell in real time from a large number of users which hybrids are performing and get a jump on winter production. Which hybrids are performing well against the competition in which environments. Product placement recommendations, etc.
