Think of a corporation like John Deere. Been in business in one form or another for over a century. Has extensive global dealer network. Factories all over the world. Extensive and diverse product line, helps feed the world, build things,  keeps your golf courses and your yard, neat, tidy, and watered. And will even finance all of the above.

Now comes Facebook. Not that old, REAL assets? Maybe a building with a few rooms full of computer servers. No factories, no dealer network. Nothing really tangible.

Valued at about 3 times what Deere is? Doesn't seem possible.
