My wife, son and I moved into our new farm house in December along with our 6 lb lassa apso, pomeranian, maltese mutt Lizzie.  She's adorable but not exactly a farm dog.  We'd been talking about getting an outdoor dog and found what appears to be a gem at the local Adopt-a-Pet.  Brody is a 4-5 month old Chocolate Lab (possibly mixed with some german shepard or hound dog).  We brought him home and he loves to play and believe it or not has not shown any tendancies to run away or chase cars.  We live on a heavily travelled county road and have no trees or fences between our home and the road yet.

It's been a long time since I trained a dog and I think I'll get a electronic training collar for reinforcement.  I have a wireless dog fence but it doesn't give the range I want so I hope I can train the dog instead of using the radio fence.  Here are a few pics of both!
