Phil is 100% dead on his take on how things have changed.
My parenting success was defined as getting my kids to 25 with college degree, job, without a criminal record or wounding it was a "GREAT" childhood and I was a fantastic parent!

There are enough law enforcement jurisdictions that are bent on making sure someone gets marked.

Recall the time being in traffic court with an Army JAG. I asked what his crime was - crossing over the double yellow line at a stop sign. Now that was a real high crime and misdemeanor offense. The backstory is that JAG's get punished for those traffic tickets on their records.
