Subject: Re: Question about dementia

southern il.
My wife and I took care of my mother for 7 years in our home. It almost put my wife in a nursing home caring for her. In the evening they what the docs call sundowner and she would want to go home, even though she did not know where home was. She become mean in time, even though she was most gentle woman I have ever met. You have recieved some good advice when they say do not agrue with them, we learned to agree with everthing she said. You have done the right thing putting her somewhere she can be cared for, right before my mother died she could not walk and didn't know who we were, so we put her in a nursing home and I felt guilty for doing that, but it had taken to big of toll on my wife. She has to part angel to have done what she did and I will never be able to repay her. So if you love your wife support her but do not bring your mil where your wife must be primary care giver. Just my experience.
