I noticed that you just barely got here and are already trying to stir the pot.  I would suggest that you give it some time....  like 6 months...  then see what you prefer.  In the mean time try using the menu choice when you log on to view "Posts Active Today" and you will get a list of every post that has been posted to today, whether it was started today or a few years ago.  If you click on that option first I think you will have what you want without changing the system for everybody else.
