Beef COWS are kept much longer then dairy cows.Some 10-15 yrs.Hauled some for nieghbor one time he said one was 22 yrs old.As long as they produce a calf.Dairy cows are typically pushed and burnt out after 3 yrs of production and would be 5 yrs old.

Feeder cattle either dairy beef or traditional beef go to markets as fats at 18-24 months.
