North Central Iowa | Paul, I was diagnosed with type I diabetes when I was 20. That was 24 years ago. I'm not going to tell you that it's fun or easy, but it is manageable. He will be able to lead a normal life. You have a huge amount of education before you, tomorrow is only the tip of the iceberg. I've been on a pump for the last four years and that has made my life much easier. I don't know if they start kids out on pumps, or if they have to get educated and regulated first. I'm going in tomorrow morning to receive training on my new pump and monitoring system, so I will ask them. It's going to be a little overwhelming for a while but it'll get easier.
