N MO | If you was going to use the bull both naturally and to AI several cows to him, you cost per calf would go way down. In that case I think it would be worth spending a little more in mostly the 6-7,000 range. The Missouri Angus Futurity, the really good ones brought between 4-5,000 and went to commercial herds. He would definitely have to be worth it though and be one that would do a lot of good for my herd and be able to do a lot of things right. I would think anything over 10,000 for a commercial herd would be crazy though. In the US the maternal traits are the WW, Milk, and CEM. The CEM measures the calving ability of the daughters. | |
