Manitoba | weighing milk yesterday and this morning and was surprised by one of our ladies. She was a 3 teater last lactation and freshned with mastitus in 1 of the other 1/4's so just dried that 1/4 up and put her on the cull list for next trip out. Milker said she's milking pretty good on 2 and we were a bit short milk so kept her around a bit. She's currently putting out 115 lbs / day (52.27 litres). That's 26 litres (57.48 lbs) a day out of each teat. Think of it as 6 1/2 gallon jugs (4 litres) per teat. Hate this translating back and forth from metric to imperial!
Not trying to say were any kind of super farm, far from it, just that it's amazing what a holstein can do.
