I agree with MU1979, when you get older, you don't need any more rodeos than can be avoided!(lol) Didn't use to bother me as much, as now, tagging calves. Now I have my 24 yr old son do most of it. We still just drive as close to the calf as we can with the pickup, and hook it with one of those long sticks similiar to what we used to catch chickens with when I was a kid. Then we drag the calf to the somewhat safety area between the pickup door and pickup, and do our tagging. Sometimes the mothers don't mind, and we don't have to look for the door for protection, other times their attitudes make it seem feasible! :-)
