I don't follow all car lines very closely but I would guess from the engine being US manufactured that this is a new from the ground up design. Probably has some components from elsewhere but mostly US made which is one of the things I was looking for.

Apologies for all the exclamation marks after the 44 mpg - its just after driving mostly 5 and 6+ liter diesels for the past 15 years I'm in a state of fuel mileage shock! This ECO version has lots of little things to get over 40 on a midsize car.
