Subject: Certified seed production......

South Central Kansas
Most of my wheat acres are planted with registered seed to produce certified seed. We did cancel one field though. The best field made 28 bu per acre, one made 18............one 16......... one 15. The poorest fields were left mostly uncut, we had hip tall crabgrass and lush pigweeds coming before we got done.

I had guys calling before harvest for seed wheat so we salvaged what we could. The germinations all came back from the lab in the 90s, so we will clean it to certified standards or better and sell for some much needed income. We try to take care of our regular customers.

Even with the bushels we cut, crop insurance paid off nicely.

By far the worst wheat since I've been farming.
