NW Washington | It might be a heavy duty truss bearing. My guess is that there is a large axial load on the shaft holding the disc blades when the one way plow is at operating depth. That is also why it has the heavy and braced tail wheel assembly. Front wheel is probably braced against the side truss too. A mold board plow uses the "landsides" to counter the side forces, but a disc plow or one way plow has no landside, so the wheels have to do the job. | |
