A few weeks ago, someone had a similar problem with a PowerStroke turning over but not starting. Someone suggested that the batteries were not strong enough to turn the engine fast enough to generate enough oil pressure to get the injectors to fire. (Edit: I think that was the explanation.)

It doesn't explain the truck dying , but it might be worthwhile to try a jump start or put the charger on it for a while. Good luck.
