Subject: RE: Question re: Ford F-150 3.7L

SE Michigan
I have now experience with the 3.7 or the Eco Boost.
Small engines in P/U's are not always a bad thing. I have a 03 F250 4x4 with a 5.4L, allot of posters here condem that combo because it's "under powered", sometime it is, but for general use it is OK. I have not hooked anything to it that it could ot move, ya, it eats fuel when pulling, but what do you expect.

On the other hand, sometimes your mileage will improve if you have "surplus" power or the engine is not always laboring to move the truck down the road empty at 60mph.

If it was me, I wold take a serious look at the 5.0L v-8, seen quite a few posts on the mileage, allot of people say is is as good as the Eco Boost for normal use, towing might be a different story.

Bottom line.......... is do some reasearch, I use the sight " truedelta.com", this is a list of owners actual mileage compared to driving conditions / speeds ect, I find it very helpful

Good luck
