I think you have laid out the options pretty well. Any herbicide to kill the johnsongrass will also take out the orchardgrass. You can try the rope wick; or you can use a grass herbicide like Select and take out all the grass. My opinion is that if you decide to use a grass herbicide and take out all the grass, you should plan to do it 2-3 years in a row, to make sure it is gone. Other option (if it is one) is to kill the stand completely and rotate to another crop - like corn or beans - until you get the field cleaned up.
