Kaukauna WI | Thank you behog. Yes, my guy charges $12 for the first and $12 for the 2nd and $12 for the third. Basically, he charges $12. Then the sales barn takes $8. Plus the beef board (who ever said it was ok to take a buck for 3 day old calves?) gets a buck and there's misc stuff like insurance (are you kidding me) that add up to another couple bucks so you're looking at close to $25. Don't want to fool around with them with trucking them either. So anything under $50, I wish they were born dead, hate to say it. By the time you feed them for up to a week & bed them, you're not making much.
When I sell a cull cow, trucker charges $22. Plus a buck to the beef board. That's it. He brokers them for us directly to the kill plant. | |
