One thing the general public forgets is the fact the farmer, in getting any money from the government, does not save this money. It is reinvested in the economy almost as fast as it is received. Plus, out of every dollar the farmer gets on the net side, 40-50% or more of it is paid back to the government in taxes.


I understand what you're saying about the reinvestment but the same can be said for earned income credit money or any other "welfare" payment. The paid back in taxes part......well I doubt a lot of other recipients of government funding (except for a lot of big corporations) do a terrible amount of that. Well at least not the ones I see this time of year.
