Denhoff,ND right in the center of the State | They dont make a good drill press now days, I searched and found a old Rockford camel back drill press and geared down through a 4 speed transmission and 1hp motor, will drill anything, I have bits up to 2 inch and will pop them through no trouble, key is to have a drill press that goes slow, so it dont burn up your bits, and they have morse taper bits so you dont have to worry about the bits turning in the chucks, these were presses once used in blacksmith shops and in the ship building industry, date back to the early 1900s, mine is about a 1920 model has autofeed and 20 inch table. Mine has #4 morse taper chuck, and I adapt down for smaller bits. Terry |
