Subject: RE: 2011 chevy block heater

Gassers only have this feature in the block heater, diesels do not. I looked through GM Service Information and find no TSB's on this issue and cannot see why it will cause any issues with changing out the cord. The truck ECM is powered off when the truck is off so it will not see an issue.
The only thing I could think of is that the ecm does not see enough cool off after being shut down which can affect how it runs tests on start up.
I bet it would work fine but i have been wrong before.
I should have a cord for a D-Max somewhere if i can find it. I wonder if they are the same.

On second thought, they are a different heater, probably a different cord.
