looks good, but it's going to need to move quite a bit faster than they have it moving to keep up with one stipper per builder. We are filling the basket on a 7460 in about 6 minutes in good cotton. He's using a 9 minute fill time and thats way to long.


I think you misunderstood. They are looking to build it to take a basket dump every 5 minutes. The 9 minutes figure is the total time of sitting under the stripper basket receiving a dump, and the time to unload the module when finished.

2.25 minutes to maneuver and unload the stripper into it.
5 minutes to pack while driving to the next dumping location.
7.25 minutes X 3 basket dumps (JD7460) = 21.75 minutes to make one 16ft module.

Plus a couple minutes to unload the module. So they would be pretty close to your 6 minute per basket figure.

They said their goal is to make one 16ft module per half hour. I think it looks to be possible.

I don't think the labor and equipment savings will be enough to pay for the Rube Goldberg invention myself.



you're correct I misunderstood. it's still to long to take 30 min to make half a module though...
