Wyoming

Table saws give a cleaner cut, more accurate cuts and can be much heavier than a radial arm saw.

As everyone has indicated, a table saw is the way to go. There's several levels of table saws - the heaviest are called "cabinet saws" and can be over 1000 lbs of weight. They make very nice, clean cuts with the right blade. Some modern cabinet saws can have a router lift installed in them so the table  & fence double as a router table.

"Contractor" saws will have spindly legs or base and be light enough to be portable. There's an in-between level of saw, which we could call "contractor on steroids" where the tables will be made from cast iron, but still not be as heavy as a cabinet saw.

BTW - the best all-round table saw blades I've run across are the Forrester II's out of New Jersey. They give very good results in both wood and plywood. Regardless of which type of saw you go with, get good blades - and expect to pay $80 to $100 and up for a good blade.
