Subject: RE: Dodge cummins

As the other poster said it's not an uncommon problem. Funny thing about the lift pumps is some go 100,000+ miles with no problems and I've heard of guys getting less than a week out of them. I put a FASS lift pump system on my '99, it's not cheap at $600 but compared to a new injector pump or even a handful of OEM lift pumps I will be money ahead. The FASS pump is supposed to be rated for at least a 600,000 mile life expactancy plus it has it's own fuel filters which I like. The FASS system comes with all new 3/8" fuel hoses plus all the wiring and hardware needed for installation which takes about 2-3 hours. The FASS pump mounts on the left frame rail just under the front corner of the bed, I've heard some people say you can hear them running from the back seat but I can barely hear mine with the truck shut off and I've never noticed it with the truck running.
