As long as there are public auctions for land there will be all sizes of farmers. Guys with side jobs, or looking to retire from a higher paying job, guys with well to do spouses :) A disciplined small farmer will have just as much ability to grow as the big dogs. Low costs, high yields, low FLE. Save money and be ready to buy when others aren't. It may take 5 or 10 years but the only thing constant in the ag economy and ag history is the cyclic flow of prices, crops and land.
