Midwest
Having been up there many times my suggestion is use synthetic lightweight oil, Buy a good block heater and a 50 foot extension cord and an adapter to tee into another cord. Make sure the tires are decent with a little more all weather tread. A garage is nice. They do not salt the streets. As far as how cold it gets, I have seen people go into Walmart in subzero with no coat. people seem to adapt to it fairly well.
