If you are thinking of getting into strip tilling (we were last year at this time) find someone that can do some acres custom for you. We ended up broadcasting our urea, potash, and dap and then had the stripping done with a Dawn Pluribus (or insert whatever bar/bars you are interested in). We did this in corn on corn and corn on beans. We compared it to how we normally do things and ended up finding a used 8 row pluribus bar. My next decision is whether I should bite the bullet and get a Montag right away or broadcast for another year and get the blower for 2013.....Overall, I am happy we went the route of having it custom done for the first year to see what we thought of it before investing too much money in it. By the way, if I need to take out any compaction layers I will find a straight knife subsoiler to run.
