You should wait and pull samples in the spring. If you don't get a good probe 8 " depth you don't have a good sample. You can probably contract fertilizer with your local coop now and spread it in the spring after you've had soil results. Just figure on probably 200 lb potash and 100 lb of MAP/DAP and if you need more you can just roll the dice and buy it in season. Although we've heard a lot of people say fertilizer prices are softening so their will probably be another shortage. hope not.
