I'm on the farm, but not in as much of the dust as the others who've responded.  I'm far-sighted, so Lasik isn't an option for me.  But I do love my contacts.  Glasses were always annoying and difficult to fit properly so I either couldn't see well or was irritated most of the time with them.   Another vote here for good sunglasses and keeping them on all the time.  Besides protecting your eyes and contacts from dust and scratches, wearing sunglasses regularly will help prevent cataracts.
