Subject: Re: Question about tiling

Ohio
The good thing is your tile plow has great resale . Tiling always pays, just someplaces it costs alot more to install than others. I would say you need a contractor with a wheel/chain and a good backhoe operator. As you well know anytime you go off grade, you have created a trap . We have big boulders here too, but not on the scale of numbers you describe. Like dixonman posted comercial plows can shove some really big rocks out ot the way, but hit one dead on and it will stop the machine. Subsoil moisture plays a big part in your sucsess or failure. The primary reason I say you need an open trench and good backhoe operator. Is when pulling out boulders like this, sometimes they leave a hole under the tile bed. You need a hoe to throw some clay back in the divet and repack with the hoe bucket.
