ok
Here after every bottle we sprinkle oats in there mouth by hand. Not a lot, but More each time we feed. Normally in a week or less we will have them nibbling at oats. They are very easy on there little bellies. Also sprinkle the oats on a small block of hay. I would rather have a baby calf drink only half a bottle of milk per feeding, BUT eat a 1/4 gallon of oats or more per day. I have done many many calves this way. Very little death loss.

IF they get cold as you were saying, the Best way to warm them back up (if your wife will let you) is putting them in a bathtub with water approx. 100 degrees. I have brought almost frozen calves back to life this way. Luckily we don't have this problem very often.

Good Luck with the little feller.
