When I was growing up, my sister would bake sugar cookies, I never cared for them even when I was a kid. Then I got married, when my wife makes sugar cookies I'll just about knock a door down to get to them. Real butter is a big part of that, also taking them out of the oven a little early so they stay a bit soft instead of getting to the crispness of soda crackers.
