Subject: Re: Question on rye or tricale for silage

Tilley, Alberta
Google Ron Kershen Triticale. There is a wealth of information on triticale from the research he has done. We have been growing it up here for the past 9 or 10 years and think it is an excellent crop for greenfeed or silage. It has the extreme weather resilience of rye, yet a high palatability and hence less waste compared to other feedstocks. And yes you can get spring and fall varieties.
