Subject: RE: Question on rye or tricale for silage

NC Indiana
Hay eq dealer told me he has a customer around Wabash that seeds cereal rye every fall and makes hay out of it until it reaches the boot stage, then he plants corn in the harvested ground, bean in the unharvested acres. This gives him enough hay for the yr.

We've done a few acres of wheat this way and baled it wet and wrapped it, and plan to continue and expand this practice.
