Turner County, SD | I personally would not build at that time of the year. Because of the issues you already listed, plus the fact that construction workers are not nearly as efficient while battling cold temperatures. Too much chance that if something goes wrong, they will say "Good enough, for who's it for." and move on. Under good conditions they are more likely to do it over to make it right. These issues are exactly why I would consider a manufactured pre-built home. I most likely will never face that decision, thus my opinion isn't worth all that much!
I just saw your location. You are over 200 miles south of me. That would temper my decision some. Structure enclosed and shingles on the roof before consisent daytime temperatures are below freezing would make me inclined to go ahead. | |
