CNY | I am in Cent. NY 1100 - 1400' elevation. Dairy with lots of manure fall & spring split apply. Inject in spring. Hay and no- or strip-till corn. Fall cover crop all corn ground, Rye for COC, oats before reseeding hay. GPNT drill. Can plant ~9/15 to 25 after silage, 10/20-? after grain. Lot's of talk about mixtures but seems like I'm limited here. Tried tillage radish but they didn't do anything, too cold. If I tried field pea or red clover would I get any N? If they killed would the rye suck up the N next spring? Could I spread out N release with a mix? Killing rye w/ glypho or Gramoxone ~ 10 days preplant now. Thanks for any suggestions.
