For those guys who think non ag can do as they please you are wrong. they have to replace the wetland usually at a 2:1 ratio some how some where. There is a wetland banking program so if somebody really has no choice and has to build in a wetland they can buy wetland acres someplace else the catch is those wetland acres can have a very high price and the closer to the destroyed wetland the better. So in a nutshell yes you can destroy a wetland but it gets really spendy to do it right and even more spendy if you do it wrong. | |
