Subject: Re: timing of cobra on beans

michigan
we seem to have the same deal our irrigated beans are 2 feet taller than our dryland beans and have half the pods on than the dryland. i am kind of disappointed really looked like we had a big bean crop coming until i walked out in them a couple weeks ago pods are 4 inches apart. we did not have a choice on when to water them as the way the field is we had to run the pivot to get water on the spuds but we did not think it would hurt the beans because we were so dry anyway. even as dry as we were it seemed to hurt our beans with watering them why is this too much water to early or what. normally we plant corn or spuds on our ground with pivots but this year it got late so we put beans i guess we need to learn when to put water on beans as this does not look like it will pay off for us this year.
