western iowa
We currently have a corn head without a cutter setup. Seems to me that 3ft long corn stalks would cause less damage than 1ft long. We were simply going to run the head as high as possible and still pick the corn. Also my tractor that pulls the ST machine is on tracks so I had hoped it could just push over long stalks. By spring I had hoped that the remaining standing stalks would be quite dead. Less residue in the row for the planter to move. Chris, let me know how wide your points are. Thanks a lot.
