Unless greed leaves the earth tomorrow they will come back or someone will replace them. The same landowners who wanted the top cash from them could care less what there farm looked like will still be there. I'm guessing most of there landowners are not local people? Had a guy I've never heard of roll into our area and rent a bunch of the worse ground in the country for double the going rate. Planted corn and beans on the place the same day and I or no one else around personally saw any fert go on the corn and it looks like it too. Maybe they know more than we do. That kind of deal is going to destroy federal crop as we know it today.
