Subject: RE: TO further this conversation in the interests of comparing..........

Bourbon,Indiana

...........here are the soil tests from 4 years ago to compare......

Alll samples were geo referenced & pulled at the same locations..

If you notice, these samples were pulled during the spring, due to some weather/scheduling conflicts the year prior....(I usually like to take my samples at harvest (Sept/Oct). So there is some inherent interpretation ....

Both years were pulled after Soybeans....

My biggest sense of accomplishment was the rise in my O.M.%....

The last time High cal lime was spread was 2/20/2006 at about 1.65 Ton/acre.....

What has surprised me is that, even though the last lime spread was in early 2006, I am still seeing the calcium increase in my samples 4 years later...and the lime spread, was very finely ground(not coarse) to boot!

I do all my own fertilizer apps with an old pull type spreader & an 856 farmall....for what its worth....

For what it's worth, I've been meaning to take different level core samples here & there for some time, but never make the time to do it. This post may get me inspired enough to get it done this year.
