Rotate your crop. Potatoes are bad for getting all kinds of diseases, so only plant spuds every 3 or 4 years in the same spot. Potatoes need lots of potassium and don't like chlorine so use some other source of K like potassium sulfate.
Keep the Colorado Potato beetles away with whatever insecticide works. Keep them well watered and grow varieties that are best for your climate and disease issues.
