Chad, would you happen to know when their school term ended for the year, since this occured on May 23 it's possible school wasn't even in session and the mechanic wasn't busy anyway. 

I don't think that is a practice that should be accepted but I would bet that it is way more common that you would think and worst case senerio the guy should have been docked 3 hours of pay and been told not to do it again.  It's an issue that should have been handled by the school board and hopefully the county attourney gets voted out of office for pulling this crap, it's a way bigger waste of taxpayers money than what the mechanic did.
