Franklinton, LA
Thanks for posting the data. I had been curious about when the river would crest at Vicksburg and Natchez. The data shows 57.5' for Vicksburg on May 18. How many square miles of land will be covered in the area north of Vicksburg when the river reaches its crest? I know the area southwest of Natchez, MS will have problems just like 1973. No one is mentioning the flooding in these two areas. However, the news media cannot get people excitied by showing a corn/cotton/soybean field and telling everyone that it will be X feet under water in Y days.

I think a lot of people will really be surprised when they read the book, "Rising Tide". This is a well written, well organized book based on a lot of very good data.
