Subject: RE: Trucking Question

If you are producing hogs and want to continue to have a market for those hogs, I would be very careful of what I said and did. Most of us that produce hogs only have access to 2 or 3 buyers within reasonable hauling distance. If you want to start being a pain in the butt your cash bid will all of a sudden get less than everyone else. You will also have trouble scheduling hogs. Had a neighbor a couple of years ago that got on the wrong side of two area buyers. He is no longer raising hogs as his cash bids got real lousy and they never had room to take his hogs. There is always a way to work out these problems and in this case the lower the profile the better. If what you are saying is true other producers are having the same problems. Get together with those people and talk to management, they want the problems solved as much as you do.
