Its partly a marketing strategy - but mainly a choice, or a preference as to how we'd prefer to farm.

I'm also well aware that not everyone can make that choice, even if they wanted to, based on land costs/areas, etc. - from what I've read on these forums, I'd imagine there's no way someone could pay the high rents for land in the corn belt & decide they want to transition (the toughest part of organic farming - converting over, when you don't really have an organic rotation set up yet, yields are down, and your product markets as conventional) into organics & keep a farm afloat...

I owe a lot to my family (Grandparents) & the choices that they made that allowed by late dad & my family to move into organics...
