We are currently rebuilding some seed boots on an 1890 no-till seeder.  I have looked quite a bit for the toughest material out there for wear.  We have settled on the one above.  What I have found through my research is that the Canadians have done some very good work with hardsurfacing materials.  Now, this material is manufacuted exclusively for this company in the US but you have to go through them to get it.  We are running it with our MIG Miller 251, reverse polarity, and no gas.  The company is good to work with and will send you samples to try but you must pay the freight, which is outrageous from Canada.  Howevever, when we ordered they shipped form their supplier in the US and it was much better. Their company engineer Daniel Jutras, spent a lot of time on the phone with me to answer questions an is very helpful.  English is a second language for him and he is difficult to understand but he is patient and will get you through it.  Only time will tell how it will work out.
