Centre county Pennsylvania, USA | Bernie, we used EZsteer w T2 and WAAS for all spraying and fertilizer spreading without foam markers in 2006. We used 1000 gal pull type sprayer w 90 foot boom and fertilizer spreader cart with 50 foot spread pattern and were very pleased with results here in our elevation featured fields.
This year James insisted on using EZ w WAAS for corn planting. Our corn planting season started May 4th here and EZ w WAAS has done good job planting corn so far. It needs some "nudging" to keep it on row marker line but it's doing much of the mental and physical work that operator was doing without autosteer. Because of that, we now pay much more attention to planter behind tractor, that's where the rubber meets the road.
EZ w WAAS is not capable of unattended planting, as some of the RTK folks are now doing, but our experience so far rates it as one giant leap for the rest of us corn farmers.
Good luck there, I think you will find EZ w WAAS may be the best Precision Ag investment you can make today, it has been for us. |
